Motion Studies - Dance

I'm looking forward to completing this in a really expressive style. The dance is very contemporary. With floor movement, a jump and a point of contact between two dancers.

For now, here is one dancer, in a really rough and quick animation I did.

Cell Action Walks

For some reason, something I'll figure out in the next few days, my cell action export is extremely low quality. I'm pretty pleased with this walk, aside from the quality. It flows pretty well, and for my first ever Cell Action Animation, I'm happy.

(A reminder of the turn around)

Completed Parallax

First of all, below is the complete digital painting, which will be turned into a moving image. I'm so happy with how this has turned out. The term practice makes perfect is the understatement of the year. I have never seen myself develop so quickly at something before. I have been using photoshop to illustrate for less than a year now, but I'm finally starting to really understand how to use it! In my own style too, which is even more exciting for me, because I never thought I'd have a 'style' as such.

Farmer Character for Animation Practice project

I've been really enjoying designing these characters. It's probably become one of my favourite parts of this whole semester. I have a few more characters to design, to be bystanders. This Farmer is really simple, and again, only really has cool tones in his design, other than the corn. I'm happy with his design and believe that he fits in with the overall theme of the project.

Background Design, Parallax progress...

Okay, so on my previous post regarding this project, the Image below is pretty much where I was. I had three layers of paint done. The Sky, the Mountains and the Windmill.
I left the project for a while to focus on some others, and I came back to it the other day. I then thought about it a little more, and realised each mountain needed to be on a different layer, to ensure in the parallax, they'd move separately 9as they are at different distances).

So I decided to almost start over. I kept what I had, but I cut them all out and re layered them. Added a little more texture, but not too much so it's realistic... mainly because I'm not quite there with photoshop yet. But also, because once I started adding foliage, a style began to develop.
I'm really happy with the new progress and how its beginning to really look like a painting!

I feel like now, I have all of the middle and background finished. It's simple but it should hopefully work, once I turn it into a parallax. I've now added more foliage, I've added the water and slight reflections. Now all thats left to do is some reeds and a boat for the foreground!

Lip sync and Reaction

Okay, so I have to confess, I created characters and started animating before I realised I needed to incorporate sign language. However, for now. I'm happy with this outcome. I would've had to of re thought the whole idea, as it was meant to be rather comical, that a snail, is asking a tortoise to slow down. So I kept my idea. Also, the quality is awful, as this is my second time ever using Toon Boom, and the first time was about 5 frames of a hand turning.

Backgrounds for Motion Studies Project

So these backgrounds are really simple, and very blocked. I'm really happy with how these are coming out. The term 'Practice makes perfect', is proving its point. The more time I spend on photoshop, the easier and quicker I can pump work out. While still taking my time to ensure the colours work together, and within the theme, I completed the two below in just a few hours. They are made up of predominately cool tones, as these scenes are set in Penryn. Whereas are warmer toned backgrounds will be within the morocco scenes.

EXPERIMENTAL SELF PORTRAIT

Here is one of my 20 Second Animated pieces for my Experimental project. I progressively saved the digital portrait, then moving all the images into stop motion software, to create the film below.
